Def-Logic: games, philosophy, music of Brent Silby

Greetings, I'm Brent Silby; welcome to my Def-Logic site. From here you will be able to read my writings in Philosophy, jump to my DJ site, or play the games I've written over the years.

I have published papers in Philosophy of Mind in various journals, and have also self published a wide range of articles of Philosophical interest. I currently teach Philosophy at Unlimited (UPT) in Christchurch City, New Zealand. My main research interests include: Philosophy of Mind, Evolution, Philosophy of Religion, and Philosophy of Music. My goal is to open Philosophy to a wide audience, hence much of my work can be described as "Cafe Philosophy"--interesting, highly accessible articles pitched at intelligent people with no specific background in Philosophy. I am on the executive committee of NZAPT (New Zealand Association for Philosophy Teachers), working with collegues to raise the status of Philosophy teaching in Secondary Schools.

After dark, I am DJ "Maestro B". I have DJ'd in many of the well known clubs in Christchurch city. In 2005 I set up a now popular house music review site (www.brentishouse.com). It contains a collection of my own mixsets along with sets from international guests. I currently DJ at regular club nights and raves around Christchurch as well as doing a weekly mixshow on 105.7FM PulzarFM.

Over the years I have designed many arcade games. My games are based on the traditional arcade formula and have been licensed to many high profile game sites. They can be played for free here at Def-Logic
